OHCOW has partnered with CROSH to review and update the existing Heat Stress Awareness Guide. With the help of the Ontario Health and Safety Prevention System partners and local labour unions, we identified areas that required improvement or revision and the concept of a toolkit was born!
The new Heat Stress Toolkit has been developed to help those supporting and protecting heat exposed workers – including employers, managers, supervisors, fellow workers, Joint Health & Safety Committee (JHSC) members, health and safety representatives, and workplace union representatives. Unions, employer associations, and health and safety professionals may also find this information useful. It includes an updated Heat Stress Awareness Guide, a new Prevention guide, as well as new Physiological Monitoring Guide. It also includes several posters and infographics, videos, and an updated, online Heat Stress Calculator. An extensive list of additional resources is also provided for your reference.
The new toolkit is meant to replace the old Heat Stress Awareness Guide that will be phased out towards the end of 2024.
OHCOW is pleased to have partnered with CROSH in the creation of all the materials in this new toolkit.
